Q: How
does a consultation work?
A: You would select a consulting
option I offer here. After you
order, I will contact you within 24 hours.
Q: Can I
talk to you or email a question I have for free?
A: It would be impossible to
answer everyone who has just one or two questions. I charge a modest
fee for my consulting time. You would select a consulting package I
offer here.
Q: Are
you available for in-person meetings?
A: No, I am not. I live just outside of
Palm Springs, California, about 180 miles East of Los Angeles. I
prefer we have a written record of our conversations, which is why I
do all my work via e-mails.
Q: Are
you available to be my full time agent?
A: For the present I am devoting my full
time to my website and consulting with artists as needed on a global
basis via the internet.
Q: Can
you tell me the name(s) of some good managers and/or
agents?
A: Yes, you'll need to
order a
consultation. In
order to find the right professional for you, we need to go over
many aspects of your career and your short and long term
expectations. Not all managers are right for all
artists.
Q: I've never acted before, but
I'm told I should become an actor.
A: In order for you to get an
agent or manager, you need to study and start to build a credible
bio. Join a local theatre group and work your way up. Networking
with others is a good way to find out what's happening. After you
have a couple of years' experience and you think you're ready for
the next step, pick a production that you feel really good about and
send out invitations for professionals to come and see you in
action. Consult with
me .
Q: How do I get a recording
contract for my band?
A: There is no simple answer.
You're asking about launching a career with a significant amount of
money being invested by the label. I can help you work toward that
goal. Let's
talk.
Q: Are you an agent or a manager,
and what does your company do?
A: I was an agent for 35 years
with two of the oldest, largest, most respected talent agencies in
the world...the William Morris Agency & ICM. An agent books the
tour, negotiates the book deal or the TV special, negotiates the
contract between an actress/actor and the film studio or producer
who is hiring the actor's service. I am on my own and I am my own
company. I no longer agent and I do not manage. What I do is offer
my vast experience, knowledge and know-how to you. This is what I charge.
Q: Why do you charge a fee for
your service?
A: For the same reason that
doctors, lawyers, TV repairmen and ballet teachers get paid. This is
what I do for a living. My service, albeit "show-biz", is a
profession in which people get paid for their work, just like any
other profession.
